Center for Advanced Studies in Mental Health (CASMH) in order to develop effective approaches in the field of psychotherapy have designed an international project titled "Development Project of Schema Therapy (DPST)" for Persian-speaking countries such as Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, as well as some of the Middle East countries such as Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arabic Emirates, Bahrain, Oman and Lebanon. This international project has its main focus on the development of schema therapy in developing countries, with financial support and donations from CASMH members. The project is headed by the Dr. Amir Askari from Iran and in this path the colleagues in other countries cooperate in this project.
So far, numerous workshops and conferences on various themes of schema therapy that are chained together, have been held in different Iranian cities such as Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz etc; but given the importance of promoting the approach and the role of cultural factors and applying the teachings of the religious communities in the Middle East and the need to exchange ideas regularly among experts in this field, the organizer team of the project aimed at providing opportunity for the transfer of information and the presentation of research results of scientific scholars and researchers in different areas of schema therapy (group, couples, children and adolescence).
Development Project of Schema Therapy (DPST) approach is development and promotion of fundamental concepts and techniques to students and therapists, attracting the participation of all scientific and professional centers, interaction with national and international associations with invitation of experts for the purpose of the interaction of science and on the other hand helps to increase scientific and applied content designed for local Middle East specialists and practitioners.
Therefore, all the experts from Persian-speaking countries and the Middle East are invited to step forward in order to participate and implement the best possible international project aimed at localizing and developing schema therapy in developing countries.
